IEEE conference on technology and entrepreneurship moves to September 2020
Several conferences on entrepreneurship are emerging. IEEE contributes merging science, engineering and innovation into an innovative conference series.
In recent years, fast growing technology development has created an increasing number of startups, that are applying innovative strategies and creating disruptive products and services in different industry sectors from mobility to life science. Entrepreneurship itself has been recognized as a catalyst of the economic growth in many countries.
Some of the most successful new ventures are based on solid science and deep technology. However, the majority of scientists are still too far from having an entrepreneurial mindset and need to acquire venture launch skills to turn their research into innovation.
IEEE, the world’s largest technical professional organization, is giving an important contribute to enrich the scientists and engineers mindset. Founded in 1963, IEEE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. It has a main office in New York City, USA and a presence in all countries with 420,000+ members including industry leaders, tech entrepreneurs and scientists. IEEE is responsible for all technology international standards and to promote the world knowledge in all scientific disciplines. Several societies and interest groups are part of IEEE including the IEEE-TEMS (Technology Entrepreneurship and Management Society). IEEE-TEMS contributes to fulfilling the growing need of entrepreneurial skills for scientists and created series of international conferences on technology and entrepreneurship: ISIE in Asia, TEMSCON in the USA, and more recently the ICTE (International Conference on Technology and Entrepreneurship) in Europe.
IEEE ICTE conference is an innovative and unique conference, that brings together innovation and entrepreneurship. It aims to foster knowledge transfer between the academic and practicing communities. Conference topics include business model innovation, digital transformation, new technology directions and applications (AI, IoT, FinTech, etc.), managing globalization challenges, and venture capital. THE 2020 SYMPOSIUM WILL TAKE PLACE IN BOLOGNA, ITALY, FROM SEPTEMBER 20 TO 23. Bologna is one of the most historical and technology advanced cities of Italy. London in the UK will host ICTE 2021; while the 2022 edition will be in Scandinavia. ICTE promises to create global learning and business opportunities for its community of entrepreneurs and leaders.
The TVLP Institute is part of this IEEE effort. ICTE 2020 conference includes a special workshop on "From Science to new Venture creation". Speakers from Silicon Valley will share the mindset of the greatest entrepreneurial ecosystem in the world, home of Google, Netflix, Tesla and the largest community of venture capitalists. Attending entrepreneurs, scientists and industry members will learn the fundamental elements to create innovative and successful new ventures.
